Physical Activity
“Exercise is the key not only to physical health, but to peace of mind.” - Nelson Mandela
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It can prevent or delay many of the health problems that can occur with age. It also helps your muscles grow stronger so you can keep doing your day-to-day activities without becoming dependent on others. Exercise can even improve your brain health and help you manage your weight.
Build a routine
Any type of exercise is better than none at all. Try to work different activities into your weekly schedule and focus on things you enjoy doing. Even walking is a great way to improve your health. Try to spend 150 minutes per week on moderate-intensity activities, like brisk walking or riding a bike. Work on strengthening your muscles at least 2 days per week and improving your balance a few days per week.
