You need to make an appointment with a new provider but want to avoid out-of-network costs. Or maybe you want to compare prices of a new medication you’ve been prescribed to find the most affordable option. Medical Mutual wants to help you reduce your healthcare costs so you can budget with confidence. Current and future members have access to our powerful search tool, a user-friendly resource that provides cost information on treatments and procedures, medications, in-network providers and more.

Here is a step-by-step process for how to access and utilize different sections of our search tool:

  1. Log in to My Health Plan.
  2. Click "Find a Provider" under the Resources and Tools tab.

How to find a provider

  1. Click "Medical + Costs" in the Search for Care section.
  2. Click "Doctors by name" or "Doctors by specialty."
  3. Enter a doctor's last name, a body part or specialty name in the search bar.

How to find procedure costs

  1. Click “Medical + Costs” in the Search for Care section. 
  2. Click “Estimate your costs” on the search page. 
  3. Enter the procedure name OR five-digit billing code* in the search bar to find treatments and procedures with providers in your network.  
  4. View and compare costs with in-network providers.  

*Asking your provider for the billing code, a medical classification number, helps narrow down the long list of similar procedures you could be charged for to guarantee you’re accessing the correct information.

How to search prescription costs 

  1. Click “Pharmacy” in the Search for Care section. 
  2. Click “here” to access the Express Scripts website, then read and accept the terms. 
  3. Click “Check Coverage” on the home screen. 
  4. Enter a medication in the search bar, along with the member name and five-digit ZIP code, to compare medication prices and coverage between pharmacies near you.
